Printable Workout Logs
Printable workout logs have long been the friend of beginning weight lifters and bodybuilders, as well as for the long time professionals who need an easy way to keep track of progress. Smart bodybuilders know that a huge part of constant improvement in their programs is to keep track of each and every workout, with every bench, every rep, every set, and every weight. Even the smallest differences from workout to workout can tell a lot about the progress that is taking place in a bodybuilder’s workout.
Printable workout logs also allow very specific and consistent measurements for your weight lifting. It’s hard to tell if you’re improving or not if at a 200 lb bench press if one day you do 8 reps, then 12, then 9, then 10, then 11, then 8. With that series of six workouts, you have no clue where you’re really at and if you’re even making any progress. The best way to get better and stronger through your weightlifting program is to work on consistency.
When you can do “X” number of reps and sets consistently every time you work out, then you go to “X+1,” and only when you can do that EVERY time do you go to “X+2″ and so on and so forth. That constant steady work and improvement is what will cause you to gain muscle, become ripped, and improve your health and workout regiment all the way around. Keeping track of every detail of each specific workout will help to guarantee that you improve steadily in your bodybuilding goals and can adjust your workout as needed.
This consistency is important because you can’t keep doing the same weight and reps and continue to build muscle mass. If you do ten or eleven reps one week, but 7-9 the next two weeks, then those two weeks won’t help you and you could easily get frustrated by the lack of results. Taking the time to steadily improve and make sure you’re actually at the level of sets and reps you’re at, as opposed to just having a really good day. Steady improvement is the key.
Workout logs also have an additional bonus that many beginners don’t think about. Since you put in the days and times when you exercise, you might find that morning workouts for you are fantastic, while evening workouts are absolutely terrible. Or vice versa. If there are certain times or days where you simply work out better than others, then those are the times you want to work out!
Some people are morning workout warriors, others find the crack of dawn obscene and hit full stride after the sun’s gone down in the evening. Figuring out the best time to work out by using printable workout logs is a huge factor for those who have optimum workouts and those who don’t.
Figuring out when your body is most receptive to weight lifting is half the battle.
